This card is made of a Christmas card, a 50th birthday card and some purple cardstock. I was curious if I could make a Christmas card look "not Christmassy" for a card recycling project we are starting at our church.
I sliced the two cards and the purple card into wedges, assembled and adhered them to a piece of cardstock which I trimmed to a rectangle. Then I cut slices of that and rearranged the slices to come up with this pattern. I adhered them to another piece of cardstock. I embossed this with my Big Shot and an embossing folder.
I then mounted it on my base card.
I think this is a quilting technique but I do not know what it is called.
It is actually quite addictive! I made five more of wildly varying colours.

You may be thinking of bargello.
It's been all the rage in papercrafting this past year.
Very creative! You have done a fantastic job of disguising the Christmas card.
