I found this smooth rock on the shore of Lake Erie near Conneaut, OH, and thought that it looked "stampable." #You know, "if it doesn't move, STAMP IT!"# It sat around for awhile before I decided what I wanted to do with it. Finally I came up with the idea to make my sweetie a paperweight for our anniversary. #He shuffles a lot of large drawings at work, so I thought it might be useful to him.# I stamped the images in black StazOn, then watercolored them with SU ink refills. The white clouds are white watercolor crayon. I was pleased with the result, although the colors are rather subtle due to the color of the rock, but that makes it look "natural." #I didn't want to paint the rock white first; I thought it would look unnatural.# The two of us enjoy looking at deer together, so that's why I added the "Noble Deer" in the background.
Well......he never took it to work! It sat around on the buffet for a few months getting covered up with clutter, so I rescued it and now it has a treasured place on my stamping desk where I can enjoy it. Guess he didn't like it as well as I did.
