I made this thank you card for my best friend after she gave me endless help with a Valentine's Day party I threw on February 11th. When she arrived that evening, she surprised me with a plate of bright yellow whoopie pies for my guests to enjoy.
So I returned the favour colour-wise in her thank you card by colouring the die cut, stamped flowers from PTI's 'In Bloom' with several shades of yellow Copic markers. I die cut and stamped the leaves from In Bloom in Old Olive, then piled everything into a 'vase' which was actually the urn from 'Garden Variety' by PTI. I curled some of the flowers and leaves around a pencil, then popped a few dimensionals behind them to give everything a slightly more realistic look (I was repaid by having to mail the card in a padded envelope lol!). I finished it up with some punched crochet lace layers in Daffodil Delight and Very Vanilla, an embossed sentiment from SU's 'Heard From the Heart', some yellow rhinestones and voila!
I have MS and work very slowly, but even despite that there is no way I put anywhere near as much time and effort into this card as she put into helping me. She would have helped me twice as much as she did and that's truly one of the most beautiful things about best friends, isn't it?
