This is my first attempt at a step-card. I finally used a Sizzix cupcake die to make the cupcake. To save time I used a sewing machine to stitch the lace ruffle onto the cardstock - faster and less messy than waiting to glue to dry on lace. I used glitter foam for the icing and cherry and felt for the chocolate dollop on top. The package in the background is cut from felt, using a Spellbinders die and has a jumbo rick-rack bow I made by stitching it together. All of the eleements are mounted on thin white cardboard (from SU packaging). This made it look nicer from a rear view as well as giving the pieces some stability. I used crystal effects on the candle "flame" and then sprinkled some fine red glitter onto it.
