Great challenge today Judy, picking from the Best of 2011 TLC's. My choice was TLC317, Newsworthy. I love the look of newsprint on a card.......details....
Before work, I glued a page out of the newspaper onto cs. When I got home the fun began. For the snowy bg, I cut some holes on the white cs panel, drawing a black line around them then adding some shading with a marker. Set aside.
For the snow hills, I cut several curvy pieces with a curvy cutter, versa marked the top edges and white ep'd for the snow. Set aside.
The snowman and trees from Craft Lounge, were stamped, versamarked with clear ep, then colored with Bic markers cutting out after.
Arranged all my parts onto the white bg with the holes for snow cut out that I had glued to newsprint to the back of. Sponged and doodled the edges before putting on a black card. Not sure why I added the pink gems, but I did.
Hope your day is going well.......Thanks for stopping by!..... :0)

Wow this reminds me of the card you sent me I was looking at it this morning. I have to say I never tried your technique but maybe, just maybe I will. You have inspired me BIG TIME with this one! Beautiful work my dear Cathy. hugsxo

This is one terrific newsprint scene, Cathy!! I love all the snowy parts done with the news paper, it adds another great element to your fantastic artwork!! The extra touch you add with your doodling is the icing on the cake!! Even around the pink gems, which IMO, look great!
