This Batiked Wooden Gecko was the first piece that inspired me. Every time I purge my stamps this lizard stamp goes into the get-rid-of-pile, and then wiggles its way back into the keep-me pile. I took my inspiration from the gecko, but also from the title - I made a mulberry batik background.
A2 base.
I stamped Print Pattern on some mulberry paper with Versamark and embossed with clear EP. I misted the paper and then coloured it with watercolor crayons. When it was dry I ironed out the EP - and I may say I had a terrible time getting my finished sheet apart from the sheets I was using to blot the melted EP.
I adhered this to some card for strength, and then embossed the edges with black EP.
Image stamped on watercolour paper with Versafine Black, embossed with black EP and then coloured with Perfect Pearls. I cut him out and stuck him to a piece of card embossed with a brick wall - his head and tail are up on foam for dimension. As I'd had to cut off the little black "toes" I added them back again with Enamel Accents.
I know this needs a little bit more something - I'll add a sentiment when I know where it's going, and will probably use some black half-pearls or something like that on the sentiment.

Aah, you have to keep this adorable little gecko - he is much too handsome to send packing! Look how he came through for you today on this beautiful card. Your background is really, really lovely and the colors are very pretty. Sabrina, Mr. Gecko is saying he doesn't take up too much room and he is quite content in his little corner of your world.

You rocked this challenge. I love your creation and I think you should most definitely keep the gecko. You're better than me...I can't seem to part with any of them.
