Wow! That breakfast inspiration picture reminded me of lazy Sunday mornings with my late husband. Most of those mornings, we spent reading the Sunday paper and eating either frosted, cinnamon chip biscuts from Hardees or bagels from Einsteins. Anyway ... I had absolutely no stamps to make a card based on the pic ... no mugs, no pie ... and I didn't think of anything using just the colors or a shape or texture ... so I decided not to make one for today's challenge.
Late today I decided to make a card using some die cuts. My fav fall beverage is mulled, hot apple cider w/cinnamon sticks. So ... I used a Sizzix Sizzlits pumpkin die to make the mugs (no kidding! just had to trim the pumpkins a little), two SU circle punches to make the handles. I stamped leaf images with a Local King Rubber stamp, using Ranger wild honey, orange marmalade and vintage photo distress pads (patted color on stamp with edges of each pad to use all inks on one stamp.) I shaded the mugs w/vintage photo. The apples were cut with a PTI apple die from this amazing picture of apples that I found in a store advertisement last week. I colored the leaf and stem w/SU choc chip and old olive markers. The cinnamon sticks are made on kraft c.s. I used several brown/rust colored SU markers and made a 1,000 dots to get the look I wanted. I went over them with Ranger vintage photo to get a little deeper color. I randomly stamped letters spelling "HOT CIDER" with my SU Rough Edges alphabet. Also inked edges and mid-space of card with vintage photo.
Card stock is SU natural beige w/flecks (not sure of name), DCWV, textured rust and green colors. Hob Lob kraft (sticks + mugs), and Michael's black for handles.
THANKS FOR LOOKING!

I'm so glad you finally decided to join this challenge. With such lovely memories of your Sunday mornings, it would have been a shame not to have crafted a card based on those wonderful memories. I think it was meant to be that you come back to the table with your creative nature. Using those dies was a gesture of genius! Your appleas are pretty darn neat too. I think your card is just great on lots of different levels.
