This morning I was inspired by the beaded garland on my tiered cake display- thinking, "wow, those would look great on a card"! Lol- so here it is. I did a re-make on a card I did earlier and love this image! It speaks "peace". Using ODBD's Wings of Refuge, and coordinating die, I watercolored the image and popped him up with tiny pop dots. The panel he rests on is on very thick foam squares. I love dimension. I added Cheery Lynn's Fanciful Flourish before adding the top panel, (made with Fleur de Lis Rectangles) I added Crystal Effects to his eye, and once dry colored it with a dot of black (Sharpie) to make it stand out.
This card is for one of my dearest friends, who is recovering from her first month of Empty Nest Syndrome. Empty nest, full heart....
Thanks for looking!

My goodness, the possibilities with this die in your hands are ENDLESS!! The dimension is fantastic and that bird image looks like a Mama without her baby, so I am sure this struck a chord in her heart!! Between the flourish, the twine, and the garland, it looks like a scene in the wood - wonderful vision, Sis! LYMI!

Hey, Pat!! How that sentiment touches we empty nesters when the kids have flown well!! I just sent a baby card to our "exchange student" daughter who lived with us 10 yrs ago for a short time but in our hearts always. I told her she was just filling her nest and ours was quite empty, but our hearts were full. How cool is that sentiment that touched both our hearts this week!! This will be a sweet encouragement to your dear friend. Love your sweet image and cake display inspired beaded garland. You do amazing things with those hands and that heart!
