I'm still trying to get somewhere with the Faux Barn Board technique. The background here is my third attempt, and it still doesn't look right. It surely can't just be that I'm using a regular brush rather than a foam one...
A2 base, base layer is a failed attempt at Faux Barn Board.
The faux wood frame was much easier, I love making them. This time I clear embossed the frame before assembling.
Circus train is stamped onto some sponged card with Ranger's Archival Black, tracks drawn on and the frame added. I also added a birthday sentiment and some faux screws made by punching 3/16" circles from matt gold card and scoring a line down the centre.

Oh Sabrina, this looks great! You are so funny to belabor the faux wood technique. When your results are this good, who cares!!!

Sabrina, I think you're too hard on yourself! Aren't we always our own worst critics! I think that you've done a marvelous job on the barnboard technique and your faux screws look awesome!
