This is for NicoleÂ’s Playing With Text digi challenge (DGC060) in which we were to:
(1) Use journaling on our page, focus on the journaling. I decided to make an introductory page for my album about our Australian friend JeffÂ’s time with us during his first visit to the U.S.
(2) We were to pull a color from a photo on the page for our journaling font—I used the blue in Jeff’s jacket.
(3) Use more than one font. I used two—one for the journaling and another for the title.
To earn our “gold stars” we were to:
(4) Take an element and use it differently than intended. I used a mask (green) as the background for my journaling.
(5) Play with a digital stamp. I used a date digital stamp and combined the month, year and circle. I donÂ’t use digital stamps very often, so this was a good learning experience.

I really enjoyed this challenge. ItÂ’s easier to learn new things when a challenge is broken down like NicoleÂ’s challenges have been. Thank you, Nicole!

I love how you used the mask to highlight your journaling and I like how you used the arrows to draw your eye from Australia to the US with the plane following that line. Very cool! Nice font for the title too!
Wow! Wendy, this page is stunning! Those techniques sound so difficult, but looks like you could do it all. I like the masking, and I love how you used the stamp to show the date.
