Well, this card felt like a recipe in narrowly-averted disasters!
I tried the new technique that was featured called 'embedded image' and discovered that it was going to take a little practice. Fortunately, I kinda liked my mistake and could use it for the sketch challenge.
So the circle on this was first die cut from white cardstock, then inked with broken china and chipped sapphire distress inks. Then I did the clear embossing layers. After those cooled, I tried white embossing powder for the sentiment and that's where everything went wrong.
The powder just melted and spread everywhere - I couldn't read a thing!
After playing with this technique a bit, I decided that you really have to be careful how close your heat gun is to the piece that your melting. (Start far away and have patience!)
But it did make a neat looking circle anyways, so I just stamped my sentiment over it with stazon ink. LOL - I should just pretend that I meant to do this in the first place. yeah, yeah, that's it! ;)
Well, then I had this gorgeous periwinkle blue cardstock scrap that I punched out, but once I had it next to the image panel - blech. I hated it.
So I colored over it with a metallic pen and then thought it wasn't too bad.
Finally, the white dots on that horizontal dark blue panel look god-aweful random in this picture, but I had actually stamped the flower image on that panel and filled the buds in with a white gel pen.
Thank goodness I had a sketch to go to today - I think I would have given up and thrown everything away if I didn't have something all nailed out for me! So thanks for keeping me from throwing in the towel today Roxie!!!!!
And I hope everyone has a much easier crafting day than I did!

I feel for you with all that you went through! I think we've all been there a time or two, but hey, on the bright side of this, your card looks pretty amazing! I like the way the sentiment came out and the colors all look great together! Nice looking border punch too! = )

What a great write up of all the 'errors'...it sure looks pretty, though.

Mistakes happen, but this turned out gorgeous! I found, that you HAVE to use a colored embossing powder for the 2nd layer. I tried using a colored ink and clear powder. Didn't work. But, that's how we learn!
