Here's a card that addressed a couple of challenges for the Dare to Get Dirty celebration this week. This is so much fun; you do things you never thought you would.
For this card, I stamped the pearlized cardstock base with a stem/leaf design using VersaMark and clear embossing powder. After heating, I rubbed on Tim Holtz' distress inks in Peeled Paint and Walnut Stain, to create an embossed resist effect.
The "seed packet" was from an old postcard. I trimmed and battered the edges, then covered the entire image with VersaMark and ultra thick embossing powder , and heated it. After four layers of UTEE, I put it in the freezer (hey, turnips are food, right?). Fifteen minutes later, I cracked the hardened image and added Walnut Stain distress ink to highlight the lines.
From there, it was mounted and a couple of strips of ribbon were added.
This layout is courtesy of the Viva La Verve Card Sketch for week 3 of January 2011.
Thanks for looking. And thanks DTGD challengers for the fun assignments.
