When Faith aka Markiesmom was Queen I was quite intimidated in CASEing one of her cards, so I should have been with this weeks Queen Gingerbeary8 as well. Carol makes some of the most intricately constructed cards here on SCS with an unrivaled level of detail week in and week out. But because she is so sweet, kind and downright fun I viewed this challenge in a different way. I know that I will never reach Carol's level of competence, but I chose to use her tutorial to make the most detailed card that I have ever done. The tutorial can be found here: Napkin Fold Card Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
My version is less ornate and much more casual than Carol's (can you tell that I spent part of my vacation at the coast?) but I had a blast stretching my abilities and learning a lot about her process. I chose to use a version of the weeks challenge colors to try to get one more challenge in ;) Edit: Punchy pal and card-making dervish Nancy Williams keyed me in to the Twisted challenge, so I guess this fits there too! PT - 15 or so
Carol, enjoy your well-deserved reign as Queen. Thank you all for looking and have a peaceful day.

Marie!!!! What a fabulous way to honor this sweet Queen! Oh my...you did some studyin' too, eh? Your beach theme is gorgeous, and I love the "shell like" border punch and netting. Wonderful my friend- you outdid yourself and blessed Carol too! Hugs....

How fun! What a great card fold, I love the corners. Great attitude for the Queen, I was hoping people wouldn't be too intimidated to try. Thanks so much for playing!

Marzi, this is sooo fine it looks like it must come from Mars. Does Mars have beaches too???? This is a totaly SPECTACULAR display of not only Carol's beautiful card, but also her napkin fold tutorial. Your sea theme and border punching on this turned it into a magical card befitting our Queen. I was a shakin' in my boots over caseing one of her cards! Way 2 go!

Wow, Marie! This is just amazing. I know what you mean about Carol's creations- over-achiever she is. You have bravely taken this on and successfully CASED one of her cards. This is beautiful and I love your beachy inspiration. You can really be proud of this one.

I can't believe you tried this super skeery card when casing Carol. I thought about it and then I said - hey, if I have to watch a tutorial to do it, it is too hard for me. Actually, my Aunt and I going to tackle it this weekend - she saw it on the home page and I told her we could email Carol if we got stuck so she decided we should try it. Love the beach scene you created - you should put it in the Twisted Sister's challenge for this week too (TSC0729 in your Key Words - their challenge was to do a beach scene and this qualifies).l Beachy hugz to you!
