I have to say this card was inspired by a tutorial that Michelle Zindorf did recently. It is eerie how she did this tutorial for a beach card in the rain because I LOVE the beach when it rains. Something about it is very soothing to me. A replenishing of sorts I guess. Anyway, I used her technique and part of her design which is my homage to her and her talent. I use a sponge instead of a brayer as that is my comfort level. Sponged blue sky onto white CS using a post-it-note to mask off the horizon; sponged on Buckaroo Blue at the top to make the sky storm heavy. Tore a post-it-note to form the cloud shape and sponged on Going Grey. Flipped the post-it-note on the horizon and sponged Tempting Turquoise for the ocean going heavier at the horizon line and softer closer to the beach. Sponged Sahara Sand and Creamy Caramel using another post-it-note to form the sand dunes. For my embellishments (which was one of the TSC requirements), I used some foam cut outs of an umbrella and a surf board. Didn't care too much for the muted colors on them so I sponged on Robin Hood Red for the Umbrella and used a Sharpie pen to had blue outline on the surf board. I created the rain following Michelle's instructions by using a white gel pen and drawing dashes using the edge of a post-it-note as a guide. My own touch was to draw lightening with a yellow marker and gold gel pen coming from the cloud. StampinUp has a beach set who's name escapes me right now but I often use the stamp that gives texture of sand on my beach scenes. Also used a sentiment from SU which I colored with markers and stamped at the horizon line. Added ribbon and adhered the panel to a scrap of DP which I had die cut shapes out of and then mounted that onto the cream CS base. So I think I covered all the requirements for this challenge: ribbon, beach theme and embellishments.

Wow, Tater, beautiful scene! Your sponging is awesome, your rain looks perfect and the lightning turned out wonderful too! You created one heck of a storm - and it's great!

Sweet Tater, we is cut from the same cloth my friend! When I first saw your card, I got a warm feeling inside to think of the beach and rain!!! Bub & I camp at the beach, and last time we went, we heard the soft rain hitting the top of the tent....gawgus. There is nothing more peaceful than that mix of water sounds, and your card has wrapped that all up! Love the message of hope in your sentiment too. Beautiful all 'round. LYMI

Oh Tater, I know what you mean about the beach with a storm - talk about the awesome power that is present!!
Love Michelle Zindorf's work too, but don't use my brayer often enough, though you have cretainly learned quite a lot from her and use her techniques a lot!!
You did an amazing job creating your stormy sky and I think the deserted beach has just the right look. Yup, you got it all here, and you led the pack getting here this week - I am going to be late, but your card is going to be hard to beat - the card and sentiment are perfect for Shirt's challenge!!
Hugs, and prayers - hope all is well!

Oh Tate this is beautiful. I love that storm scene, you did such a good job on that and I think it's hard to do. I too just love Michelle's art. You are learning a lot from her tutorials. That sky you created is perfection. Love your card!

Gorgeous - I love how this looks. I love the beach when it rains too because I don't like to go out on the beach - I just like to look at it and read and there is no pressure to go out when it is raining. Love the embellishments and sentiment you used too. I use sponging when I try to case a Zindorf card as well -but one day I am going to learn that brayer!!!!
