The Hottie Rubber Romance Chef for my buddy Caryne who loves to cook. We love to share antique cook books, and last week we were sharing Buckeye Cookery from the late 1800's. It was loaded with tips for keeping a home (ie: "don't ever paint your counter tops white- it is best to leave the wood natural" and, how to treat "the Help" Lol!) and was loaded with wonderful recipes. She got a kick out this this card, and loved that it smelled like chocolate. (I always glue chocolate flavored coffee to the cake)
Main image is water colored, cut out and popped up and added to and easel (Nancy Wms Style) I glued a small wooden rolling pin to hold up the main image, and added miniature flatware (HL- doll house aisle) for the birthday frame.
Thanks for looking!

I collect old cookbooks as well. My favourite is an English cookbook of historic recipes written in the English of the day with translations to todays English. Who knew the earliest salad was in the 1600's and flower petals were an ingredient.
The tiny flatware is so adorable and I love the saucy cook. Your friend will love it, it's wonderful.
Cheers, Elizabeth

Pat this is lovely. I love the idea of chocolate coffee on the cake. It also looks wonderful. I bet it smells great when it comes out of the envelope, like fresh from the oven. tfs

Wow - what a great card with awesome details. The silverware and rolling pin are perfect with this RR hottie. Love the card style too! Fun, fun, fun. How great you love old cookbooks - the oldest I have is from the 1950s and it has some extremely fattening man pleasing recipes in it. TFS my sweet, sweet friend. LYMI!!!!
