This week it was Starla's turn to choose our challenge over at Happileigh Scrappin' . The challenge is to make your own embellishments for your project. It can be flowers, ribbons, buttons, whatever you want, but at least one embellishment has to be handmade.
I decided go for a steampunk and fairy tale look combined. I wanted to use my new Tim Holtz dies Tattered Flowers and Gadget Gears. I also made my own buttons using the SU Embosslit - "Sweet Buttons". I used two of Leigh Grady's digis - Water Sprite and Taking Time - July's freebie with any purchase.
Used DCWV "Once Upon a Time" 8" x 8" dp and sponged around the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Colored the digis - 2 clocks and Water Sprite with Copics and gold gel pen and cut out. Glued one clock and the Water Sprite down on the dp. Then cut off the pendulum rod on the other clock and glued it on top of the first one. Popped up the clock face and pendulum base on top of the first ones with dimensionals.
Die cut the flowers, gears and buttons on white and cream cardstock, then sponged with Distress Ink. Assembled the flowers with dimensionals and used the die cut buttons for the flower centers.
Glued the die cut flowers, gears and buttons in place on the picture and matted it on Not Quite Navy and Soft Suede cardstock.
We would love to have you join us in this week's challenge over at Happileigh Scrappin'.

This card has the look I am trying to learn. I call it "junk it up". It's haveing lots of stuff on one card and having it turn out beautiful. Well I haven't been able to get mine to look as beautiful as yours. But you inspired me that is for sure. I just love this card!!!
I wasn't going to sign in this morning - just look - and then I saw this. This is the most beautiful card I think I've ever seen. I absolutely love it. If I send you my address, will you send it to me on my next birthday? *kidding*
But I could only find the Clock digi offered as a freebie with an order of 3. Is it available to order, by itself? It's gorgeous, too.
