For both the CAS Holiday Challenge #3 (to make something that sparkles) and the SCS Christmas Card Challenge, I did this sparkly snowflake.
I used a Dreamweaver brass stencil with white embossing paste and silver glitter, cut it out with a circle nestie, and mounted it on a larger circle of silver glittered cs. I had a leftover piece of silver paper that I'd used in a previous project to cut out a scalloped circle, so I went up to the next size of circle nesties and cut it out as a narrow border for everything else. And then mounted it on a square white cardbase with dimensionals. IRL, it is very sparkly.
