A perfect challenge as DH wanted a card to send his brother.
A2 base, sponged with Vintage Photo stain and then stamped with Weathered in black.
Next layer is brown paper crumpled up and then wiped with Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo pads, then spritzed. I was delighted to find that the spritzing really helped uncrumple it. While it was still slightly damp I tore it to size and sponged the edges with Walnut Stain.
Image panel is Polished Stone using Caramel, Rust, Espresso and Burnt Orange alcohol inks. I stamped the Sideshow Stamps owls with Rangers Archival Black, tore it to size and sponged the edges with Soot Black.
Hero Arts sentiment stamped on a scrap of the brown paper with black and coated with Rock Candy crackle paint. I added a brad which I coated with Verdigris ep and popped it up on some foam.
Oh yes - I added some Crackle Accents to the little leaves, but it hadn't started to crackle yet when I took the photo.

OH MY GOSH!!! This is GORGEOUS!!!
I have no idea how you did it (even after reading your explanation). For some reason I'm not 'up' on different kinds of ink (Vintage Photo? Stain? There is SO much to learn still) but it sure makes me want to talk with my SU! demo.
Thank you for sharing!!
wow!
