This is an 8"x16" slab of marble tile that I converted into a memorial in honor of my mother who died at the young age of 64 on May 17th. I presented this to my father on what would've been their 43rd wedding anniversary this past week.
The tile has 3 photos that I printed out on different colors of cardstock (creams, off-white marbled, etc.) to give a vintage look. The images were then cut out with deckle-edged scissors and sprayed with matte clear acrylic sealer.
The flowers are all flowers that I hand-dried from Mom's funeral. The dried flowers were also lightly sprayed with the matte acrylic sealer for added stability. The flowers were then adhered to the tile with various adhesives depending upon the size, shape, and weight of the flower. For the 2 large roses, I also looped a small piece of green floral wire around the base of each flower and glued the wire ends behind the rose blossoms to help support the large blossoms. For one of the small floral/greenery items, I also bunched it into a group and tied it together with floss.
I stamped the Bible verse on another piece of cardstock and edged it with the same ink. Then I used a vintage typewriter to type the verse citation and source. I cut that typed panel into a rectangle, edged it in the same brown ink, and adhered it to the Bible verse panel.
Once the entire marble tile was completely assembled and the adhesives had dried, I sprayed the entire tile again with 2 more light coats of matte clear acrylic sealer.
