This is for FS227 and StamperCamper aka Mary is our featured artist today. Congratulations, Mary! Your gallery is so lovely and I had a wonderful time browsing for inspiration. Here is a link to Mary's On the Grow card that inspired me. CC321 On the Grow by stampercamper at Splitcoaststampers Mary, your coloring on this image is gorgeous! It truly looks like a handpainted watercolor. I wanted to get the same effect with some garden images I have. I was watching some Art Impressions video tutorials yesterday http://artimpressions.com/?gclid=CKP...FRNl7Aodn1qTKw and was intrigued by how realistic the stamped/watercolored projects looked. I kept wishing I had all of the stamps that were being used. Duh! I have bunches of those kind of stamps in my stash, including my very own Kittie Kits Outdoor Master so I pulled them out and gave the techique a try.
I kept Mary's watercolor floral theme and almost the exact same layout. I used a different color combination changing her red and black to Baja Breeze and Old Olive.
The images were all stamped using water based inks and then touched lightly with a wet brush to smudge up a tad to look like it had been painted. I really like how this mixed pot of flowers and folaiage turned out.
