I made a couple of these carnations at a class I attended last week and loved the way they looked, so I tried them again with today's color challenge -- Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Perfect Plum. I did, however, have to substitute colors. And as far as the Dessert of a big, fat bow -- I'm trying desperately to lose weight, so I made a little bit of dessert! The carnations are made using a technique the demo called faux suede. You punch three scallops, distress them a lot to break down the fibers, and then split the paper in half -- leaving a rough surface. After putting the layers together with a brad, scrunch them up and then brush them across the ink pad.

I love how the constructed flowers lead into the flowers on the paper. Thank you for the specific instructions regarding constructions. An inspiring start to my stamping day!
