I am so pleased with how this card turned out as it came out with the feel I envisioned, although I wasnÂ’t sure about the details!
Stamped the snow globe on WW and scrap paper (and also on acetate with Stazon for the mask). Cut the center out of the acetate copy and laid the globe part over the main image copy (used tape to hold in place). I then (held my breath!) and stamped the Bird in a Circle image with the acetate in place. Once I started breathing again, I then coloured the globe portion with prismacolour pencils. Laid the acetate over again and sponged distress inks using just the foam pieces. Used another pc of foam to go around the globe portion with black distress ink to hide any cutting spots I missed. I cut the stand portion of the scrap copy and then used this to mask the bottom, so I could use Versamark DTP on the whole upper globe. Added UTEE clear, heat, let it cool for a minute, masked again, then Versamark, then UTEE & heat. Repeated this one more time, adding a tiny bit of glitter before adding the final UTEE. (Again, I could breathe!)
Stamped the stand part of the globe on silver metallic paper leftover from my latest butterfly project (had alcohol inks in the perfect colours). Very carefully retraced the lines in permanent marker that I thought was black (at 2:00 am) but turned out to be blue (thank goodness it matched!) Cut out and pieced over the original image.
Attached the lilac cs as the bkgrd. Attached the silver border and the floral border sticker. Attached the snow globe (the stand is ds tape, the upper has pop dots). Attached leaves at the bottom (ds tape & pop dots). Punched butterflies out of vellum, then added alcohol inks. Attached pearls & rhinestones, added pop dots to attach
This card has 4 flaps that close in and are the envelope. On these flaps I wrote the following: “.By now you may have rec’d a few other cards. This one requires a little bit of imagination . . . imagine that this snow globe is a home (you can be the bird if you want). You are surrounded by flowers in your home and when you look outside, your are surrounded by paradise! Leaves at your feet, beautiful flowers and monarch butterflies!! Inspired by jacquielawson.com” . . . tfl. Would love to hear your thoughts
