Hi! These cards were made for today's Technique Lovers Challenge: The Same...But Different!
Well...I LOVE this frog from the set: Our Side of the Pond...And, frankly, I had a bunch of these mushrooms from the new set: Garden Fairies, sitting on my desk, from the pieced card I made for Friday's Challenge...So, I colored them up, and tried to figure out how in the world I was going to cover up the spot where I cut OFF the fairy who was sitting on the top of the mushroom. I grabbed up the frog and WOW! I was thrilled that the frog fit on the mushroom! However, there is a little butterfly that sits on the mushroom, too. And, that little butterfly is too small compared to the frog. What to do? Well....there is a BIG butterfly in the Garden Fairies set. I LOVE that butterfly, because it is very easy to adapt to a needed space. What do I mean by that? Well...I stamped the image and CUT OFF THE RIGHT wing! And, it looks like a SIDE VIEW of the butterfly! Cool, right? And, it is the PERFECT size for this mushroom/frog combo!
I colored in the mushrooms, butterflies and the frogs with Copic Markers: YG95, E17, YR20, YR68, YG25, R21, YR12, E95, YR16, E97, YR61, RV17, BG45, E33.
To keep the "same" I used the same papers, and ALMOST the same layout. However, I stretched a layer that drew the parts together. So, one card is CAS and one is MORE.
What do you think?
Finished card sizes: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Total time to complete BOTH cards: 54 minutes

Isn't that cute? Haven't seen that little buddy in a while. He looks great on that toadstool.

OMG! While I LOVE both your cute little froggie cards...it is
"THE SAME...BUT DIFFERENT" that drew me in! My sisters and I say this all the time and all our husbands laugh at us!
I thought this was a "southern" or an "our family" thing...are we related?

Thanks for making me smile Faith. My wonderful late & much adored Mother had a real phobia for frogs (at frog season she used to get my dad to carry her piggy back from the car to the front door (all of about 10ft!) "just in case" she saw one! It was a source of great amusement in our family and whenever I see a frog now I can feel her arms around me so Thank you. Recalling such precious memories is one of the many reasons I love to craft. A word, an image, they all bring back such special times and help keep us strong x
