Paper piecing, this week's TSC, is one of my least fav techs. All that cutting and stuff. However, I did enjoy this challenge. Limited time so I just started grabbing supplies within reach. I am fairly new to Becca Feeken's Blog, Amazing Paper Grace which is SUPERB, and I learned how to make these amazingly easy flower buttons. Got the glue gun and the antique button box and went to town. The image is Stampabilities. The DP is from Hobby Lobby as is the ribbon. I used my Score Buddy to crease a one inch wide piece of DP every 1/4 inch; folded that accordian style, applied tape at both ends and stuck them together to form the pleated banner then hot glued on the button flower. (I think I also learned this on Becca's blog) I also sponged some of Tim Holtz Distress Ink (antique linen) on a paper doily, cut it in half and adhered to the left side of the card. Stamped the image three times on three different DP scraps and cut them out. The sentiment is a combination of two different rub-ons which came to me in the mail as a freebee. I didn't have any wider "orange" ribbon so I used what I had even though it looks too skinny. (Add that to my Hobby Lobby list) Oh yeah, I used a ceramic bead for the center of the button flower. I have made several of these button flowers since I had the glue gun out and it sure is fun. Will be difficult to mail as it is bulky. Makes me wonder how some of the beautiful button & bow cards I have seen survive the mail? Also, I popped up the foreground image with pop dots.

I read every word in your description to see why there was pink on your card. I thought maybe that the challenge had pink in it and I just missed that part of the instructions, then I thought you might be sending it to one of your best friends who loves pink, then I thought you were trying to play a joke on everyone. How funny that IRL your card doesn't have pink - sure looks pink on this computer screen though. Love the button flower - Pat told you she mails the bulky cards in bubble envies but she also wraps all kinds of things around the bulky part to protect it - I personally just stick them in and hope for the best. I mailed my bulkiest card ever the other day and I mailed it in a box box so it would survive - the things we do for our art.
Now back to YOUR card - love the colors, the images, your distressed doily and that super cool fan flower (thanks for the tip on how to make it - I have been meaning to look it up.
