Wendy's challenge for the F4A today was embedded embossing. Well, I tried it a few weeks back when Faux Pressed Flowers was the tutorial in the Inkling, and my sample is still sitting on my desk in case I'm desperate for something to make up into a card some day - I was not happy with it. Not much happier with this. It was inspired by seeing a goldfinch in the garden for the first time since we moved here four years ago. Our goldfinches are smaller than the American ones, and are mostly a soft creamy brown, with red on the head and a yellow splash on the wings.
A2 Bazzill base.
For the embedded embossing I punched 3/4" circles from yellow card, and 7/8" circles from red paper. After layering these I laid them over the birds in the embossing folder, checking from underneath that they were correctly positioned, and then added the white card. After embossing I trimmed it down and layered it on red paper. I used H2Os for the green, and added gold Perfect Pearls on all the little birds. Sentiment from Pun Fun was stamped with black on white card, sponged with yellow and matted with more ovals punched from red paper and white card coloured with the green H2Os.

Love the spotlighting, Sabrina! This is so cute! I'm looking so forward to seeing the beautiful little goldfinches in our yard very soon! Love listening to their beautiful little "tunes"!
