LateBlossom's One Layer Wednesday challenge was to do a sympathy card that didn't use flowers or trees. I realized that every single sympathy card I've ever made includes flowers and trees! So I was stumped for a bit, and then decided on a simple scallop shell in an embossed square with a bit of pale blue sponging around it, and a very simple sentiment. I used PTI's Rustic White cardstock as I liked its less bright shade of white and its subtle flecks - it made seem a bit more sombre than a stark white cs.

Wow, this is an amazing CAS card! You are right that the rustic white appropriately softens the starkness that is there with a true white card base. The nestie embossed frame adds an understated classy-ness to the card, as well. TFS!
