I am the hostess this week for the Stampin' B's Design Team and the challenge is to use Navy and Green and include dots, stripes, or plaids.
Think there are no plaids...wrong! My green layer was all plaid until I ran it through the herringbone embossing folder and wiped it out. I tried to compensate with a few stripes of dp on my navy strips.
I sponged behind the trees to make it appear there was a mountain mist. I sanded my paper, added some twine and brads and it is completed. Thought it would be a good masculine card.
Hope you'll join the Stampin' B's this week. Just use the keyword StampinB.

Great idea to emboss the background, who knows what papers lie behind that embossing!! Oh you can't fool me!! Great looking trees - they look like about 70 - 80 of the evergreens that grow all over the Vancouver area -and yes we have mountains too - but no mist... but the mist is a very cool looking and maybe right in the mountains there is a mist - they are about 15 or so miles from me.
Great looking twine treatment, Benzi!!!!! Wow!!! I got woken up early this am because they demolishing a house in behind me. They do that all the time around me, because a 30 - 40 year old house costs - and I am serious - 1.4 million or so -and then they build a new bigger one!!!! This one is right behind us! I guess there will be a lot of noise for a while, while they pull up the entire house and foundation -and then build a new one!! OH sigh!!!! And I think the house next to it is slated for the same fate!!! At least it's still cold- cool out so I don't need those windows open!!
Are you glad I came to comment!!;) and tell you the story of my life????

OMG Benzi, don't you hate when that happens? A perfectly good piece of dsp goes downhill after embossing. I think the herringbone ef, for some reason, gives really deep impressions. But, hey, you made this work anyway. I guess that means, even at 89 going on 90, you can still come up with clever ideas. LOVE the brad and twine treatment. Benzi you did REAL GOOD!!! P.S. Love the b/g behind the beautiful trees too!
