Hello! This card was made for today's Clean and Simple Challenge: Out of the Box.
Now, I KNOW you think this is more than two layers of card stock. However, it is not! It's pretty easy to do, and it took a LOT less time than you would think, too!
I started off with 4" x 4" square. I LIGHTLY pressed the Spellbinder die onto the square to get a LIGHT impression of the die.
Next, because I didn't like the "hanging thread" part of the stamp, I CUT IT OFF! I kept it, just in case I may need it some day. And, since it's a clear stamp, I can just line it up to use it!
Next, I stamped in the "blue" thread and then the "green." I placed a mask over the GREEN thread and stamped the RED. (I made the mask by stamping the tread onto a large Post-It and cut it out.) Next, I pressed the die down, again, over the STAMPED images. I marked the pieces that were sticking out and then CUT around them, up to the impressions left for the die. I gently pulled those cut areas up and OVER the die so that when I put it through the machine, the die would not cut off the spools. After the die was cut out, I used a stylus to emboss the areas where the spools were NOT sticking out. I used 3 masks to cover the thread spools and used my Copic Airbrush to create the background.
Finished size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Total time to complete: 49 minutes.

This is great, Faith! Love your spools of thread overtop the sentiment shape. Great CAS card. Love your strips of paper at the bottom. The buttons are a perfect touch!

Faith, this is such a cute card!! I love those spools of thread; great idea to cut off the "offending" part of the image! And here I thought I was the only one who did that~NOT!
