Summary of steps- Found a sticker I liked, so worked from there on. Placed the dog sticker on a white circle, then put that on top of a slightly bigger dark blue circle, and that one over a bigger white circle. Mind went blank for a few minutes as I tried to think of where to go from there. Decided the card would be horizontally aligned, so cut a white strip of white cardstock, and then a slightly bigger one out of the blue, so it would match aesthetically with the concept used on the image. Didn't have any patterned paper which went with the cardstock, so decided to wing it. Picked a colored card base that would not clash horribly with the colors I was using, adhered the image and sentiment panels, and went to town cutting out circles. By hand. Hadn't acquired nestabilities yet, so had to use naked chipboard shapes as templates, sometimes nestling them, which is why the ring-shaped circles are so wackily cut out in the inner ring- didn't think to use craft knife to slash a bit, and instead kind of pierced in the very middle with tip of scissors, and from there cut outwards. Spent several minutes figuring out the placement of the background circles, then adhered those on, sometimes having to lift up the already attached image and sentiment panels. (Work from back to front, people! Don't be like me ;) !) Card looked too plain, so decided to add a few rhinestones. First I made the line of light blue square ones on the rub-on panel. Yes, had to lift image and the position it again, to make it appear as if the line is uninterrupted. It's not- no sense using up rhinestones under the large circle, if not a single bit of them were going to show, so only made it look like it was uninterrupted. Still thought the card looked a bit plain, and wanted to use up the rest of the light blue square rhinestones, so I randomly placed some in the cut out circles, and after that, to add variety, also used large round clear rhinestones.
I need figure out a more practical thought process ;)
Thank you for looking!
