I find One Layer Cards (OLC) rather daunting so when my SU demo had a blog challenge on the weekend that included making a OLC, I shuddered. I figured that since I couldnÂ’t have multiple layers, IÂ’d pretend I had layers. I dry embossed Confetti Cream cardstock using 2 nestabilities to create a faux frame, masked and sponged with Cajun Craze on the outside edges and Crumb Cake on the inner edge. Used SU markers to colour and stamp the image from Just Believe on the blank panel in the centre. Used my SAMJ to place it where I wanted it. Of course I gave it a quick shot of Shimmer Paint solution (masked it so only the centre panel is shimmery). Popped on a sentiment and I have a One Layer Card!!!!
PT: I used 2 nesties for my frame but it's a bit hard to include punches when you can't add layers!
Thanks for stopping by.

Absolutely beautiful, Heather. What an amazing one-layer card! I admire your resourcefulness for this. You nailed the look of layers without actually layering! So clever. And your colors and composition are spot-on for this sympathy card. Hoo-rah!!
And you solved the birthday puzzle!! Clever you ;). I hope you didn't mind getting a preview. It's nicer in real life!!

Heather! OLC? OMGoodness! You made this soooo lovely! Was it more difficult than layers? I love the effect. Gorgeous! Moosh hugs.....

Heather, this is so fabulous. So warm with the colors and so sensitve with the image. It's really fabulous. I wish I could dry emboss like this. I've read the directions I dont know how many times, but I just cant seem to get it right. It's obvious you had no issues. It's awesome.

So funny you are just like me, I struggle doing OLC or just plain CAS, but will keep trying. Your card is gorgeous, love the image and the distressing around it. You did a great job.
