I have a bunch of owl stamps, as I regularly make cards for a friend of DH's who is fighting cancer and who collects owls. So, as my shadow box card wasn't really suitable for sending to Marie I've brought along this owl to make a full dozen owls sitting in Cindy's tree.
A2 base sponged with Walnut Stain distress ink. The woodgrain panel was a failure sitting on the desk - if I recall correctly I stamped the StarvingArtiststamp backgrounder with Versamark on watercolour paper, embossed with clear EP and then washed with blue inks. I heavily distressed the edges.
The owl is from Sideshow stamps, stamped on watercolour paper with StazOn Timber Brown and coloured with re-inkers. I cut it out with Nestabilities and coloured the background with Scattered Straw distress ink.
Crimped brown strip with a window punched with Word Window Punch and a computer-generated sentiment layered under it. Leaves are from ODBD Randi's Song, stamped with Soot Black and Forest Moss distress inks.

Sabrina, your blue background is stunning and fits to your card perfectly. Great Owl, too! You really have a green thumb, I mean blue hand at card making! (Why blue hand? Well, the German romantic poets refered to the Blue Flower as the epitome of inspiration.) I figure a blue hand makes for a nice analogy...Thanks, as always, for sharing your creativity with us. Marie will be so happy to get this card.
