This was for today's Technique Lovers Challenge - create a Pull Out Shadow Box card. This was my 3rd attempt at folding the box - do what Karen suggests - try it a few times with copy paper first to get the feel of the folds.
For my card, I ended up using Basic Grey Origins dp ... Love love love their paper, but it's a bit on the stiff side for this project - Stampin Up or comparable dp would probably be perfect!
The image inside is a digital from The Stamping Boutique colored with Copics. I added a few yellow Stickles dots to the flower centers. The sentiments inside "Surprise" and "Happy Birthday" were computer generated and then punched, sponged before adding. I kept the inside dimension free because of the box & the wrap.
I trimmed some BG dp with scallops to put on the outside 2 flaps and carried that same border over to the wrap, although it's difficult to see because of the color. The wrap is celery with a strip of the BG paper, scallop border punched. I added a circle of dp matted on garden green scalloped circle and then a pretty paper flower that I DID pop up for dimension.
I don't mind that the outside is a little on the plain side - leaves a "Surprise" for when they open it up.
Thanks for looking!
