The inspiration for this is Qbee's gorgeous Shadow Box Angel: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers These shadow box cards are so much fun to make, and if you want to try one, here's the link to Qbee's wonderful project sheet that she so kindly posted in the Resource forum: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
The images are colored with the Stained Crystal technique (Technique Junkies Newletter - Oct/Nov 2003), which is Crystal Effects (about three drops) colored with classic reinker (one drop). For the back panel of the shadow box I used a resist technique called Ghost in the Shadows (Technique Junkies Newsletter - Aug/Sept 2005), but without the "ghosts" and done on an angle to match the windy streaks in the Cardinal stamp, which is pretty hard to see in the scan. Because the back panel is made with white paper, if there's a light source behind this shadow box it lights up very nicely.

I was the very fortunate recipient of one of the shadow boxes. It is the most gorgeous piece of art yet by Linda. The scan does not do it justice. The stained chrystal technique actually looks like stained glass. This is sitting in a very real place of honor in our home as I do not yet have any christmas decorations out.

Oh my Gosh! You have my address, right? :-D Linda, this is incredibly beautiful! I need more time so I can come back and just stare at this! For now, it's back to churning out my mundane Holiday cards! TFS! :-)

I just can't stop looking. The stained glass is perfection and I can see the sparkles on the snowflakes. The PSX holly is a great match, isn't it! This must be an amazing sight in person!
