I made this birthday card for a friend who likes owls.
Punched a 2 1/2" circle mask for the moon on a Post-It Note. Brayered the sky first in Tempting Turquoise, then Not Quite Navy and last Night of Navy. Removed the mask and very lightly sponged a whisp of Night of Navy across the moon.
Stamped the owls and tree branches and sentiment in Early Espresso ink. Colored the owls using SU and Tombow markers. Stamped the foliage and grass at the bottom in Early Espresso, then sponged Tempting Turquoise, Sahara Sand, Early Espresso, and Basic Black at the bottom.
The tree trunk on the side of the card is a crackle stamp by Judikins, which I think looks like tree bark - hard to see in the picture. Stamped in Early Espresso and colored with SU and Tombow markers. I cut off part of it to make the tree trunk. Stamped the owl that is inside the tree on a separate piece of cardstock, colored and cut out. Covered the image with Versamark ink and clear embossed. Traced the outline and cut a matching opening slightly smaller in the trunk, then glued them in place on the card front after adding the ribbon and mats. Highlighted with a white gel pen and added stars.

OMG... what an incredible moonlit scene! Love all the depth and dimension from highlighting with the white gel pen. Great tree trunk too... very ingenious! Love the border of tiny owls along the top and the fancy font of the birthday greeting. Another masterpiece Sue!

I'm not even a big fan of owls, but who could resist this scene. You do such an amazing job of combining your stamps to make such creative scenes. I want to stamp like you when I grow up, LOL. Tfs
