I made this card for my nephew's 21st birthday. When I saw last week's Sliding Pop-UP card tutorial I thought it would be perfect for what I wanted to do.
I drew and colored the mug based on a fogotten old mug of my DH up in the cupboard. For the foam I drew and colored it, then traced a copy of it. I colored the edges of the copy. Then on the original I added Copic's Opaque white paint, crystal effects and Rock Candy Stickles. When dry, I cut it apart and popped it up at 2 heights on the foam copy which I had glued to the top of the mug. I dripped Crystal Effects a few times on the side of the mug. After that dried I colored the drips with copics.
The card is 5 x 7 - bigger than the directions in the tutorial, so I had to make adjustments to the size and placement of the pop-up part to get it to pop-up correctly.
I had fun with this technique and look forward to using it with a few other ideas I have. tfl

Fabulous! Your beer mug is so realistic and the foam is amazing. Really creative and clever - I will be "borrowing your idea soon as I know lots of young people ready to turn 21 in the next few months.

Fantastic head on that beer! Awesome card for someone celebrating their 21st birthday... your nephew is gonna LOVE this clever card you created! Love your frosty beer mug, although on a cold day like today, a hot toddy would be my choice.
