Hi! I made this card for today's free 4 all challenge: tell me about it Stud (and no, I don't know where that comes from!) We were to repeatedly stamp a word or phrase to create a background for our image. I stamped "sweet life" on an embossed and distressed background.
I really went out of my comfort zone on this one, since it has buttons (the only thing I ever button is my jeans, LOL!), linen thread (I don't sew!), lace (I don't wear it or have it around my house) and a feather (although I collected feathers as a kid, the last time I brought a real feather inside as an adult, my dog went wild and ran off with it in her mouth; needless to say this is a fake one, or couldn't you tell by the, ah hem, subtle color!! tee hee!)
I stamped the image and colored the bird, leaves and flower in using reinkers and aquapainter. Distressed with distress inks and edger. Mounted it and distressed the edges of the mat. I embossed the background with a clocks ef from cuttlebug, distressed with chalks, and then stamped my words on it repeatedly. Added the lace, buttons with thread and then added the feather.
TFL and have a sweet day!

Sorry, I reacted so quickly when I saw your card, that I didn't read what you wrote. You did an awesome job of working outside of your comfort zone. I love the buttons and the lace. I had forgotten what this challenge was about, as I didn't do it, but you didn't make your repeated phrase real obvious. You did great with the distressing too - a really nice card.
