This is the second card I made for the year end countdown challege to make a card with a distressed newspaper background over at stamp tv: http://stamptv.ning.com/ . I crimped a few strips of kraft cardstock thinking they resemble those 'coffee cozies' bands you put around your coffees so you don't burn your hands when you hold them. Then I wrapped twine around them for a little additional texture. The tall grande was stamped from Rupa's My Cuppa Joe set on vanilla cardstock then again on Garden Green - I used a 1/2" circle punch to punch the center label out and attached it to the cup. I borrowed the sketch, CPS185, from Card Positioning Systems: http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ for their 2010 sketch challenge.
This card is one of two I made for a recovering police officer who was injured in the line of duty. If you are interested in sending him a card as well, please PM Barbie 50 here on SCS.
This card also fulfills the requirement of using old newspaper in Stamping Vacation's 'Very Vintage' Challenge: http://stampingvacation.blogspot.com...newspaper.html .
Thank you all for taking the time to look at my card. I hope everyone has a happy and healthy new year!

Another great card using newspaper. The coffee would go great with the doughnuts. LOL Cute coffee cup image. Thank you for joining us at the Stamping Vacation Challenge Blog. Happy New year.
