I created this card for someone who has a friend across country that broke her leg while in Vegas (long story). I came to SCS for inspiration, and this was the card that I was inspired by: MFT December Teaser, Day Two by Bar at Splitcoaststampers
I love the way the flowers stand up on the card, as I really enjoy texture and dimension. I used flocking for the center of the flowers. I think I may have to add this one to my permanent inventory.
The images are two separate public domain drawings, probably done back in the early to mid 1800's when illustrating books were done by hand and stamped via wood blocks. Each flower was colored with chalks, sprayed with a sealant to prevent smudging, then cut out. The vine image with the three flowers is one image and took a while to cut out (thanks patience!). I then ran it through my Xyron and created a sticker. The larger flower was colored in the same way, but a second one was colored and used to cut out various petals so that I could curl them and glue them to the original flower, giving it texture and dimension. The original flower was cut out and the ends curled and attached with a dimensional dot. The white linen card stock was scored on the half inch and cut to 5-7/8" by 6-7/8" and the edges inked; get well was also printed on linen in Marnie font in black and the edges inked. The card was made out of stock with a textured vertical finish in a color called buff. The edges were inked as well. I finished the card off with three blue skittles in two corners and a small wrap of blue gingham ribbon around the sentiment
