This week's TSC was to make a Christmas card about one of our favorite carols and it had to have bling! As a child, I grew up in Europe with a German Mom. One of our family traditions was to open our gifts on Christmas Eve after we attended candle light services. While we were "in church", Santa had come to our house! Then before we could open our gifts, we sang Christmas carols and if we didn't sing them loud enough or with enough enthusiasm, we had to sing more! So, we usually got it down right the first go round! One of my favorite carols was one we sang in German entitled, "Leise Rieselt Der Schnee"; Softly Falling Snow....loose translation. I dotted white CS with Versa pen and embossed with clear EP. Tore a post-it-note and sponged Denim Distress Ink at the torn edge to create the mountains. Stamped the trees with black and then the ones in the background in Alwasy artichoke. I painted on a coat of Shimmer medium but should have used a sponge brush rather than a regular artist's brush as it left streaks. Stamped the background white CS panel randomly with snow flakes and added a large snow flake brad because it was there and it also has bling. Thanks Pat, for this challenge; brought back a lot of wonderful memories for me!

Phyllis~ your card is outstanding, and I am so touched by your story! I always miss my mom more during the Christmas season, and now my Grams too. I remember Grams telling about how Santa came to their farm house while they took a horse drawn sled to church! When they came home, fresh wreaths with candles were lit over the framed family photos, the tree was up, and their "socks" (Stockings) were filled with fresh oranges and nuts! How lovely. Your card is a picture of that story for me, and I love what you have done. Your starry sky and gorgeous trees are heart warming. Love ya Sista!

Beutiful and story. I look back at my childhood, which I miss very much, and think about how good we had it. Like a lot of people, we didn't have a lot of money, but I sure have a lot of good memories of those times. Merry Christmas!

How very pretty! That is a beautiful scene and the masking gave such a beautiful effect. I like the streaks as they give a high cloud effect. Beautiful!

What a beautiful childhood memory this carol brings back to you, Tate! Awesome job of creating this snowy landscape of those great mountains (thanks for sharing how you did it!) and the trees, which show such depth by using 2 different inks! Your BG with the snowflakes gently falling everywhere, and the big blinged one make this card so extra special!! Ya' done good, Tater!! Hugs!!
