Because we don't have cardinals here I am not so familiar with the female, and usually take the lazy option of just colouring them both red. Inspired by this Cardinal Pillow I went for a pair on this card. Alas, the stamp wasn't lovely birch bark, but I echoed the shape of the cushion in the way I cut my red layer.
5 3/4" base. Papers are old K & Co. Northwoods image stamped with Versafine Black on Bristol Board and coloured with re-inkers. Frosted Lace Stickles on the snow, White Opal Liquid Pearls on all the berries and the corners of the *cushion* layer, and Glossy Accents on the beaks.
This sees me finished the CCC10 challenge .

Sabrina, this is so beautiful! I love the birds in the pines - in fact, I don't have any bird stamps, and always admire them in the gallery, so have some ordered at the moment - can't wait now seeing yours! I like the how you've done the snow and the berries too.

WOW what great coloring and texture here, Sabrina! I love those frosty pines and the pearls...that is a lovely cardinal all dressed in his winter finest.
