Here's my card for Tuesday's Teapot Challenge. I'm so excited because I actually did a one layer card. I know one layer cards are supposed to be easier, but I'm usually not thrilled with my results unless I have layers and ribbons, etc. I couldn't resist adding the pearls though, which I colored with my Copic markers so they matched the flower exactly. (I'm not sure what company makes the sentiment stamp -- maybe CTMH?? I've had it in my stash since I first started stamping a LONG time ago!). To create the shadow block, I just tore some pieces of paper and masked off a rectangle, then I sponged ink and sponged and sponged until I got the effect I wanted (so I now have very inky fingers!)

I'd say your inky fingers were well worth it... love this!

This is a beautiful one layer card. You know, I don't think I have ever made a one layer card. It's probably because I know it won't turn out pretty like this one. TFS

Very pretty, what a great idea to mask off for the bg, absolutely beautiful. I also would have never thought of coloring my pearls either. Thanks for the great tips and for sharing your wonderful creation.

Wowza - what a beautiful sponged background - a perfect setting for your lovely iris.
One layer cards easy? No way, they require a lot more work to carry them off successfully, which you have certainly done.
