Deer Season will begin on Monday in WV and Saturday after Thanksgiving in MD. Which inspired this card. I know most of you don't hunt and more than likely most of you dislike hunting immensely. But there is a good side, that really peaceful feeling getting out before daylight, when it's so quiet, you can't see a thing without a flashlight, but you can hear the deer taking off through the woods knowing there is danger around. You get to your treestand, sitting there quietly, sometimes hearing something walking around near you, but it's dark and you don't know what it is, could be a raccoon, fox or a skunk (that's when I'm glad I'm up a tree.) As it starts to get light, it's like you can hear the other animals and birds of the forest waking up. This sounds ridiculous, but sometimes it's even like you hear the trees waking up. Then when it's light enough to see real good, sometimes you see animals you don't ordinarily see up close. A photographers dream. If it weren't for deer hunters there would be an overgrown population of deer that would eat your prized flowers, and more automobile/deer crashes.
The card itself is brown, I used labels twelve and the Clear Dollar Stamps Designer labels die for the saying. I stamped the treestand, deer and grass with versamark and embossed with detail black ep. Sponged broken china, stormy sky and chipped sapphire distress inks.
