Carisa (guineverelady) challenged us to create a card to mark a life event.
When I was born, my Dad brought my Mom red roses, and sent yellow roses to me. (For a long time I had one of those pressed roses in a scrapbook, but it was lost long ago in a Florida Hurricane.) Thereafter, for every birthday and major event in my life until he passed away, he sent me yellow roses--graduations, first day of school every year (I was a teacher), promotions, new career paths. My husband, knowing the story of the yellow roses, often carries through on the tradition, but not to the extent that my Dad did and so today I'm thinking about my Dad and the yellow roses of my life.

My Dad did this for my mom! I remember going to the store with him may times to pick out the yellow roses! I loved it as a child to know how much my dad cared when sometimes he would have to go to several shops before finding the right yellow roses.
