On Saturday my 2 lovely Sister's and I had our annual day out to one of the biggest craft fairs in the UK.
Every year we come home with lots of stash, vowing to do wonderful things and full of enthusiasm only to end up cramming what we have bought into our craft rooms, where much of it never sees the light of day! LOL!
However this year we vowed to change all that and set ourselves the challenge of making at least one card within one week using the stash we bought at the fair.
Being notoriously slow in making just a SINGLE card I am sure that they thought I would'nt be able to rise to the challenge but here it is!
The base card and scallop frame are both from Craftwork cards. The peace on earth sentiment was part of a penny black slapstick set of 3 stamps which I found in a bargain bin for $2!) (Yeah! I usually NEVER spot the bargains!)
The frame was raised onto 3d foam pads to imitate a real picture frame and in the aperture I have put a piece of acetate to imitate glass.
The majority of the flowers were made by hand using the Martha Stewart Poinsettia punch (my fave buy of the day!) The berries I picked up in a goodwill store in the summer (a big bunch for just 50cents!) The gold pine leaves were made using my Martha Stewart pine branch punch.
Other than a couple of other flowers & leaves from my stash, I also used a touch of Stickles glitter glue in "Candy Cane".
You can't really tell from the photo but the card opens with a half shutter mechanism which is made by folding back the front of the base card before gluing on the frame topper. So when the card is standing it becomes 3D.
As you can see from my gallery this card is something TOTALLY different to my usual style. It's the first time I have ever made a card using just a stamped sentiment as opposed to a coloured stamped image and I cannot tell you just how much I enjoyed making it and can see myself using this technique lots more in the future.
I really hope you like it and I am SOOOO grateful for any feedback, good or bad! Thanks so much for stopping by

An absolutely wonderful card...this is just my style and I just think this is a great creation....texture and interest all over it...and the floral embellishment is just totally correct. Well done. http://craftyquills.blogspot.com
If ever there was a card that gave me that instant 'Christmassy' feeling then this is it. One of the nicest christmas cards i have ever seen. It reminds me so much of a very special lady, my mum, who used to love the poinsettia especially at christmas time, she would of adored this card, its beautiful x
