This is a folded paper star, I guess sometimes called German or Swedish stars. I remember doing these at school one year as a child. I believe they are traditionally dipped in wax. My husband didn't think it was very Christmas-y because of the blue, so I made the others in red for a swap I was doing.
This is awesome. Can you share the instructions please? I love the blue. We just changed outr tree this year to blue, silver and white ornaments. [email protected]

Thanks so much for the responses! I originally learned how to do this from a Christmas craft book I have, but I checked out the Carol Duvall instructions Angie posted as well. It takes some practice, but then it becomes kind of addicting. It was fun to do it for a swap because I only had to stamp the paper once, then cut it up and fold it. This is the first year I stamped on them and now my old stars look really boring. Oh well, there's my excuse to make more!
I got my paper in the art section of Michael's and JoAnn. I'm not really sure what it's used for, but the brand I bought is Strathmore. It comes in probably 10 colors. I used a paper piercing tool to punch the hole for the SU cord and sprayed the finished stars with spray glitter which makes them really sparkly.
