There is a fun challenge on CAS this week. It's called Faux Letterpress and here is my creation.
My niece and her DH are having their first wedding anniversary on October 31 - Halloween! Pumpkins were a key item at their wedding so I just had to include one on the card but I didn't want it to be a Halloween card. I also didn't want the pumpkin to be the center of attention so it is rather light, faded into the background. There are stars on it and those I colored in with a clear Spica glitter pen - I'm sure it doesn't show up on the photo.
I'm not sure I like the distressed colored bg behind the sentiment but it was too white so I'll have to live with it
I love how the Faux Letterpress bg came out. I used white dye ink on the Cuttlebug folder and a gray cardstock. The white really helps to bring out the detail. I will definitely be doing this again.
Thanks for looking. I hope my card helps to inspire you to create a card.

Oh, this turned out beautifully. You achieved a wonderful faux letterpress look--one that I couldn't! I love the great colors you chose for this, too Great fleur de lis frame.
