oh, Stef, even with the site down, I had no prob picking a wallpaper to use as inspiration! Here's the one! I know I am not fooling anyone who knows my work...I just had to create THE room!
Fortunately for me, a pad of the 'Wander' Basic Grey arrived yesterday with this ever so perfect skyline!
I set about building the room. The sideboard began as a Memory Box nightstand with lamp that I stamped 6 times and pieced together. Colored the pulls with silver pen. The lamp was stamped and the shade paper pieced. I added a touch of yellow on the undershade for effect. The chair was again 'rearranged' from a whole chair by Rubber Moon, using bits and pieces. I hand cut the pillow. The rub was penciled with the checks, going over them with Spica Glitter pencil and a white gel pen. I then ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Traffic EF. The shells on the sideboard are real. The sentiment is one from Invoke Arts:
True ART is characterized by an irresistible urge in the creative artist~~~Albert Einstein
It's that urge to get your hands inky or sticky or even old rough gardening hands where True ART begins...like I just knew I had to see if I could Re-create that room. I'll love to hear your take on the quote...and thanks for leaving the gift of your comment...they truly encourage my creative spirit!
Happy World Card Making Day out there. Don't resist the urge.....

I absolutely love your creativity in being able to do this! "I just had to create the room..." - yep, that's the sign of a true creative artist!! I love the way you attached that great sentiment, which I can readily identify with - seems there's always an idea brewing in the back of my head, just has to bubble over and out eventually. There's such a retro look to your card, it's fabulous! I bet you had so much fun!

Oh, I love your card!!! You did a great job recreating this room. I almost feel as if I'm there in it. I agree with your thoughts on the quote and towards this challenge - you just have to do it. You can't contain what's going on inside of you. Art to me is expressing yourself - your thoughts and emotions, and trying to help others feel and see what you are seeing. I love it!!!
