This is a dimensional Congrats card for my Mom who went blind about a year ago and also wears a hearing aid. She always loved going to the casino to play the slot machines so my brother tries to take her a couple times a month. He tells me that when you win the "wolves howl" and Mom can hear it. Well, Mom heard the wolves howling and got very excited. It wasn't a huge haul but it was enough to make her happy so she could take my brother and the nursing home aide out to lunch and she still has some left over for another day. I know the card is not a one-arm bandit but it could be interpreted as gaming just the same and it is dimensional so I think she will like it.
The image is a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I could not use the technique where you ink the embossing folder because then the image would have been debossed and I wanted it embossed. So, I embossed two pieces of white cardstock and used a brayer with red ink to color up one of the images. I got a couple little smudges in the body of the card thus the flower and rhinestones. I got bigger smudges outside the main image so I cut around the perimeter of the rectangle and pasted it onto the uncolored card. I also had to cut out the Qs and the hearts and paste them on, too, but it was easy and it makes it even more dimensional for my Mom. It was matted with red cardstock and placed on a white card. It was so much simpler to make it than to explain it, really.
Thanks for looking and I hope it helps to inspire you to make a card, too.
