Hi! This card was made for today's Inspiration Challenge: Tadenberg. I chose THIS CANDLE as inspiration for today's Wedding Card.
Friday was bad for us. Dad was called by the hospital and was told, "You need to get here. She's going, really soon." So, he called my sister and then me. Mark and I headed BACK to the hospital. (We had JUST LEFT!) Mother had been put on a Bi-PaP machine that is really quite loud...(And, her breathing was getting better. Now, don't get me wrong here, the woman was laboring to breathe.) I asked the doctor if this new developement was due to heart failure and not the fibroids in the lungs. He looked me in the eye and said that the x-rays showed masses, in the lungs, but that could be fibroids OR fluid from heart failure. I suggested he treat the masses as fluid, as she was responding to that treatment the day before. He looked at me and asked when I went to medical school. I looked right back and said, "Obviously not back in the stone age when you attended!" He laughed, patted me on the back and ordered the attending doctor to treat her for heart failure. Guess what? She is now improving, again. (Oh, and I had called my ex's cousin, a cancer research doctor, for info on how to speak to the doctors, since she had gotten worse. He's a WONDERFUL doctor, who took care of me, via consultations, and web conferences with the doctors here. He told me that my mother has little time left, but she could fool us all, as she has in the past.
I was informed, this evening at dinner, that my husband had RSVP'd for a WEDDING tomorrow. Goodness...I would have liked to have known that! (I need to visit my colorist, BIG TIME! He called and left a NOT so nice voice mail informing me that he had heard I had 1" roots, and better get myself to his chair this weekend, or he was going to cross me off his client list! LOL) And, I need a dress...And...I guess I have to buy a pair of decent pumps...even though I haven't worn anything except flipflops for 4 1/2 years....
The background was embossed with a Tim Holtz texture fades folder. The focal panel was stmped with a flourish from Frame and Flourishes. the flower/vine is from Ladybugs and Carnation.
Finished card size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Total time to complete: 17 minutes It took longer to tie the bow than anything else!

You are so awesome. It takes me 17 minutes of just looking for the card stock in the card stock drawers. And then to pull off everything else you needed to do, whew.. Your card is beautiful and looks like it took two hours. Hope your mom is doing much better, every minute is precious.

Faith,
This card is gorgeous and looks like it took forever to make. You are a true master. You also have a way to look at situations and put humor into them. I like hearing how you spoke to that doctor. He might be the dr. but you are the loved one and he's NOT God. I'm proud of you for how you handled the dr. Made me laugh this morning. I was saying, "You go girl!"

Your mother is very lucky to have you advocating for her. Glad there was a turn for the slightly better. How do you make such beautiful cards when there's so much drama going on? Oh. How about just using some embellies on your fip-flops? LOL.
