I'm trying to make a few more masculine cards at the moment as thinking of you pick me ups for the male teachers at our school (we have one term left down here in Australia before we break for our summer holidays).
To start, I cut and embossed the second largest label die out of Whisper White CS. I left the die in place and used the ink blending tool and blending foam and starting with Antique Linen ink I worked in circular motion to put the ink onto the CS. I then used Tea Dye ink and finally Pumice Stone ink to build up the depth of colour, leaving the centre quite light. Next I stamped the 'Life is a Journey' stamp into the centre with Vintage Photo ink using the Stamp-a-ma-jig.
I cut the striped paper 1/8" shorter than the base card and used the blending tool and Pumice Stone ink to do the edges of it.
On a scrap piece of Whisper White CS, I aged it the same way as the others and stamped 'Praying for you' on it with Vintage Photo ink. Then I punched it out with the Word Window Punch.
To make up the card I adhered the striped piece to the centre of the Whisper White base card. I used foam mounting tape to stick the "Life is..." piece in the middle towards the top and finally stuck the 'Praying...' piece in the bottom left corner.
